- FRI - W1
- 10:30 AM - 12:15 PM
- Using CAS to Foster Independent Learning
- Patsy Fagan, Drake University
- Whats the next step? Is my answer right? Questions like these often indicate a students lack of confidence and/or coneptual understanding.
- FRI - W2
- 12:30 PM - 2:15 PM
- SMARtBoards, TI-Nspire, & navigator - creative integration of these amazing technologies
- Tom Reardon, Youngstown State University
- Incorporate these technologies into your precalculus, calculus, and methods courses: create color pdf's of your daily class notes and post online; use the wireless Navigator as a student response system; use Nspire documents as review, extra examples, animated tutorials, flash cards, Obtain a CD full of activities that are ready-to-use.
- FRI - W3
- 3:00 PM - 4:45 PM
- Discrete Dynamical Systems with TI-Nspire CAS, Part II
- Rich West, Francis Marion University
- For 19 years I have taught courses in Discrete Dynamical Systems. This year I am teaching a course in each semester approved for use with students not required or interested in studying Calculus. This workshop will be my second attempt to provide insights and explore projects with the TI-Nspire CAS.

- SAT - W5
- 8:00 AM - 9:45 AM
- Using the ClassPad 330 to Visualize the Beauty of Mathematics
- Diane Whitfield, CASIO MRD Center, Portland Community College
- The audience will participate in hands-on activities to explore the basic features of the ClassPad 330 handheld with examples from basic Algebra to Calculus and also an activity to introduce Statistics. This will be an introductory workshop. No experience needed!
- SAT - W6
- 10:30 AM - 12:15 PM
- Using the TI-Nspire to Teach Real Applications in College Mathematics
- Lisa Yocco, Georgia Southern University
- The recent emphasis on real data applications in college mathematics presents the need for more technological skills. This provides a perfect opportunity to use the TI-Nspire, the newest handheld technology from Texas Instruments. Graphing and expoloring functions, lists and spreadsheets, scatter plots, and mathematical models will be discussed.
- SAT - W7
- 12:30 PM - 2:15 PM
- TI-Nspiring(TM) A College Algebra Classroom
- Tracy Watson, University of Arkansas at Little Rock
- TI-Nspire(TM) technology offers students a different learning experience for the concepts taught in College Algebra. We will look at classroom activities addressing concepts such as function transformations, zeros of polynomial functions, and systems of inequalities. All TI-Nspire documents, student reactions, teacher observations will be made available.
- SAT - W8
- 2:30 PM - 4:15 PM
- How Was That Done
- Judy Gathers and David Ray, University of Tennessee at Martin
- Have you ever wondered how some created the files they use on their TI Nspire activities? In this workshop we will explore several activities and see how they were created.
- SAT - W9
- 4:30 PM - 6:15 PM
- Discovering mathematics via the ti-nspire (multiple representations
- Janie Fossett and Lisa Richardson, Hamilton County Tennessee Public Schools
- Each participant will experience hands-on discovery of a variety of mathematical topics using the latest technology, Texas Instruments' TI-Nspire. Participants will leave this workshop with many activities and tools that they will be able to immediately use in their classroom.
